Vision for the 21st Century Classroom
Hello Everyone,
I am quite torn about which direction I would like to go next. Part of me would like to explore the technology available at my school and how best to incorporate it into the classroom. Another part of me would like to further investigate early literacy. However, now that I think of it, early literacy may refer to both traditional and digital literacy, meaning that I don't necessarily have to choose between my two inquiries.
Learning in the 21st Century
The modern classroom goes beyond the four walls of a school. Learning takes place online, outside, and at home, in real world contexts. I have mentioned in previous posts that I would like to help staff members at my school in embracing technology in the classroom. I think it is a disservice to our students if we do not equip them with the tools and skills to navigate the online, digital world. I think the most effective way to reach the staff at my school would be through blog posts and/or vlog posts. I would like to create something that is practical and readily available to staff to use/view at their leisure. I believe these posts would be better received than creating yet another committee with more meeting for teachers to attend. During these posts I would like to give an overview of the various pieces of technology available at my school:

- Document cameras
- SmartBoards
- Spheros
- iPads
- MacBooks
Not only would I like to provide an overview of the technology, I would also like to offer ideas about how to use the technology in the classroom to meet the curricular needs of the 21st century learner. These ideas may include apps that I am currently using, among apps that I would like to explore in the future.

The goal of my final project would be to take what I have learned and apply it to the classroom to assist myself and my staff in providing a technologically-rich learning experience for our students.
I have much more to say about this topic but am momentarily having trouble finding the words.
Stay tuned.

You have a solid direction here for your final project. I appreciate that you are creating a resource that teachers can access/view at their leisure. What tool will you use to host your vlogs? How will you share your resources and organize your posts to ensure others can find what they are looking for? I also encourage you to consult some literature and research. Perhaps on the effectiveness of self-selected or asynchronous professional development.
